These Three TV Shows Cancelled Before Airing Will Have You Asking…”Why?”

We live in a golden age of television. There are so many streaming services completely focused on whatever niche thing you might be into, it’s impossible to keep up with them all. Even with all these choices out there, there are still shows in the works (or possibly even finished) that never get to see the light of day. Let’s look at a couple!

Chris Hardwick’s All-Star Celebrity Bowling

This one rests firmly in the “We filmed this, but they didn’t want it” category. Host of AMC’s “The Talking Dead” Chris Hardwick would recruit various celebrity guests for games of bowling and upon typing this sentence, we can immediately see why AMC would decide against actually airing the episodes they paid for. This type of show would have probably taken YouTube by storm, which is ironic because all the episodes recorded are available to watch there for free now.

Aquaman

Long before Jason Mamoa would actually make Aquaman cool, the CW tried to make it happen with this failed pilot that was supposed to debut along then-current hit Smallville. It didn’t make it, but the show’s star, Passion’s alum Justin Hartley would later make the jump to Smallville himself. During the Superman focused series, Hartley would play a different DC superhero, Green Arrow.

Blonde Charity Mafia

Blonde Charity Mafia was originally developed by the Lifetime network, who decided “we’re good” after production finished and sold the show off to The CW. However, the year it was set to debut, the CW completely pulled all of the shows it had planned to launch that summer. While the show never got to run in it’s home of the United States, it did air on something called “MTV Australia” where we assume they had to reverse footage of any toilets flushing.
