Diamond Jacks Casino Near Shreveport Has A New Buyer and A New Entertainment Complex Could Be Built On The Site

Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City near Shreveport was a victim of the pandemic. The already struggling casino couldn’t survive after the initial state shutdown in 2020 and opted not to reopen when other state casinos in Louisiana did.

The property has set empty for years now and has been sold and now resold. The Cordish Group has purchased the property and has plans to redevelop it into an entertainment district.

State gaming commissioners say that Cordish will present its redevelopment plans to the board during their next meeting set for April 17th.

Cordish has never bought or redeveloped a casino, but, has built casinos in Maryland and Philadelphia. Cordish operates the LIVE! entertainment venues, similar to the LIVE! in Arlington near Dallas, Texas.

Cordish’s Live! Casino Pittsburgh, a so-called “mini-casino” that’s actually in Westmoreland, involved the company reconfiguring a former Bon-Ton department store for gaming operations.
