A Real-Life “Squid Game” Competition Is Coming to Netflix

Not a lot of people were watching “Squid Game” thinking, “I wish this was real, and it was happening to me.”  But for anyone who WAS thinking that, you CAN have your chance . . . without the killing . . . probably.

Netflix is creating a real-life “Squid Game” competition show that they’re hyping as “the biggest reality competition ever.”

It’s called “Squid Game: The Challenge”, and it’ll have 456 players . . . competing in a series of games . . . for the chance to win $4.56 million.

Those numbers are notable because there were also 456 players on the fictional show . . . and the total prize, in South Korean currency, was 45.6 billion “won.”  That’s more than $38 million in U.S. money.

Netflix claims the $4.56 million payout for the new show is the largest lump-sum cash prize in TV history.  (That said, Fox’s “X Factor” did previously give out recording contracts that were WORTH $5 million.)

There aren’t many details on how the show will work, other than that it will be a “massive competition and social experiment.”  If you’re interested in joining, you can apply at SquidGameCasting.com
