Dr. David Guzick, a physician recognized by the National Academy of Medicine, begins his new job as Chancellor for LSU Health Shreveport today.

“My vision is to create a integrated academic health center in partnership with Ochsner Health but in conserve with the faculty and the staff, and when it works well it serves as an economic engine for the region,” said Guzick.

Guzick’s most recent position was at the University of Florida, where he served as senior vice president of health affairs and president of UF health for nine years.

“Although its different I’m hoping we can achieve many of those successes here in Shreveport,” said Guzick.
